Are you struggling through the menopause?

Are your symptoms taking over, harming your mood, your relationships, and your quality of life?

Are you lost when it comes to talking to your doctor, getting confused by HRT vs non-HRT treatment options? Are you overwhelmed by the variety of complementary therapies out there, wondering if any of them could help you?

Maybe you haven’t had a good night’s sleep in ages. Maybe you’ve put on weight and you can’t figure out why. Maybe you’re afraid to make plans, because you never know if you’ll feel well enough to follow through on the day.

You don’t have to continue to struggle. You can regain control of your life. You can learn how to thrive through the menopause.

I’m Catherine O’Keeffe, Ireland’s first menopause coach, and I’ve helped thousands of women turn their menopause journeys into a positive experience. In this live online course, I’ll show you how the menopause doesn’t have to be a struggle—let’s make it a powerful transition into a fuller, more dynamic chapter of your life.

What do you get in this course?

Module 1
What’s actually going on in that lovely body of yours?

Once you understand the rollercoaster of change your body is going through on a hormonal level, you’ll be in a much better position to take control of your own experience.

  • We’ll decode the ‘menopause jargon’ so you’ll find it easier to communicate with your doctor and to understand medical information.

  • We’ll take a close look at specific hormones so you’ll gain a clear picture of why the menopause is a necessary—and yes, even a desirable—stage of your life.

  • Wait...there are different types of menopause? There are, in fact, and we’ll be talking about when and why they happen so you’ll know which one you’re going through.

Module 2
Don’t let the symptoms control your life

Feel like you’re ‘falling apart’ or ‘going mad’? It’s not you, it’s the symptoms. Yes, menopause causes more symptoms than you realised. So let’s look at what they are and how to get a handle on them.

  • Just how many symptoms are there? And should you expect to experience them all? Gain peace of mind when you know what to look out for.

  • You’ll learn how to improve your quality of life by lessening the impact of your worst symptoms.

  • Symptoms don’t occur in isolation. You’ll learn why it’s so important to recognise ‘knock-on symptoms’, and what you can do about them.

  • Understand the additional challenges neurodivergent people may experience at the time.

  • Menopause Bingo - the symptom checker.

Module 3
Getting your head around Hormone Replacement Therapy

Confused about HRT? You’re certainly not alone. To go on HRT or not is a big decision, but it doesn’t have to be a scary one—not when you understand the options available and how they work in your body.

  • We’ll cover the 6 vital things you must ask your doctor during the first menopause-focussed check-in—and when to schedule your appointment.

  • I’ll demystify HRT: What forms and types are available? What are the risks and benefits?

  • You’ll come out confident in your new knowledge, armed with the information you need to decide if HRT could be right for you.

Module 4
How to choose complementary treatments that can help you

Of course, HRT isn’t the only treatment option available to you. Complementary therapies can play a big role in helping you thrive through the menopause...if you know which to choose.

  • We’ll talk about which complementary therapies are beneficial for the menopause and why.

  • Not all treatments are right for all symptoms—you’ll learn how to select a complementary therapy based on the symptoms you’re experiencing.

  • You’ll be able to put together a plan of treatment—conventional, complementary, or a mix of the two—that suits your needs and values.

Module 5
What to look for to know the good supplements from the bad

We’ll explore how (and if) supplements fit into your overall treatment plan, and which forms and quality offer the most effective support for menopausal symptoms.

  • I’ll share the ‘Holy Trinity’ of supplements—the basic 3 most women easily become deficient in, especially during perimenopause and menopause.

  • We’ll look at the specific supplements that can help relieve specific symptoms so you can put together an effective regime based on your own symptoms.

  • You’ll learn to read the label of any supplement so you can recognise high quality and avoid harmful side effects such as bloating and stomach upset.

Module 6
Cultivating supportive habits, ditching the harmful ones

You’ll have more control over how you feel throughout your menopause if you know which actions to take. Let’s talk about the lifestyle habits that can have a massive impact on your physical, emotional, and mental wellbeing.

  • We’ll look at the 2 major lifestyle areas that are key to thriving through your menopause.

  • We’ll talk about which aspects of your life, when left unnurtured, can trigger and exacerbate symptoms.

  • You’ll learn which habits to form around sleep, stress, diet, exercise and relationships to support your health and happiness throughout your entire menopause journey.

Module 7
Giving your gut and bowel the attention they deserve

Why is food so important? Where does gut health fit into your menopause? How does it impact weight management? It comes down to this: without a healthy gut and bowel, you won’t thrive through the menopause. Their health is foundational to everything else. So let’s make sure you do all you can to support a healthy, happy gut.

  • The good foods you want to put in your trolley.

  • We’ll talk probiotics—the ones that can help and the ones you should avoid.

  • You’ll learn how to create a gut-friendly shopping list that doesn’t contain any nutrient robbers.

  • I’ll give you simple lifestyle tweaks that will enhance your good bacteria and set you up to thrive throughout your menopause.

  • We will talk about the essentials to weight management in these years.

Module 8
Where do you go from here?

At this point you’ll know more about the menopause than most women. You’ll know how to ease your symptoms, which treatment options to look into, and what lifestyle habits will support you. It doesn’t stop with knowing. Now we look at how to put it all into practise so you continue to thrive.

  • You’ll learn how to design a daily routine that supports a positive mindset and keeps you on course.

  • I’ll share simple, but powerful, gratitude practises you can sprinkle throughout your day.

  • We’ll cover the crucial mental, physical and emotional ‘check-ins’ that will help you spot and address challenges before they turn into problems.

FAQs about the course

How does this differ from any other course out there?

First of all, I’m an unbiased source of support—I’m not trying to lead you into a ‘one-size-fits-all’ path of treatment. I know every woman has different needs and requires a different treatment plan. Also, I’ve designed this course after years of experience working with thousands of women, and seeing what information and actions help them along in their journeys. And since I’ll be giving the course with bi-weekly live sessions and a private community, you’ll be able to ask your specific questions on a daily basis.

Do you advise against Hormone Replacement Therapy?

I’m neither for nor against HRT, or any other treatment options available in the worlds of conventional medicine and complementary therapies. My role is to help you understand your options so you’re empowered to make a choice that’s based on what’s right for you.

I am in early menopause due to cancer will the information apply to me?

Yes, the course will cover all types of menopause and to ensure you receive the personal information you need you will also have the opportunity to ask questions each week to ensure you get the help and support you need. Before the course starts you will be asked to fill in a short form which will provide details in relation to your menopause journey to date so I will have an understanding of the areas we need to cover throughout the 8 weeks.

I’m only interested in one specific symptom, do I need the entire course?

You don’t need me to tell you that the menopause is a full-body experience. But because of that, and because of all the change that occurs throughout your body, it’s nearly impossible to successfully target just one symptom. What’s more, the menopause is a transition that lasts 4-10 years and the symptom that is the most severe today may not be the same a year from now. This course will give you a comprehensive understanding of the menopause so you’ll be able to reduce the severity of virtually any symptom at any stage of your journey.

My mum had an awful time with the menopause. Should I expect the same?

If there’s anything I’ve learned from the thousands of women I’ve worked with, it’s that no two women have the same menopause. It’s up to each woman to acquire an understanding of her personal journey and develop her own toolkit for success—which this course will help you do. Plus, we now know so much more about the roles diet and lifestyle play throughout the menopause than we did only a decade or two ago. So it just wouldn’t be fair to yourself to base your expectations on another woman’s experience.

Is it really worth paying for a menopause course? Can’t I just find all this information online for free?

You might be able to...if you’re willing to sift through tonnes of information and misinformation to figure out what will actually be useful to you. The way I see it—most women, even the women who work closely with their doctors, lack a foundational understanding of the menopause. So they end up leaving a lot of their experience to chance, and missing the opportunity to educate themselves and take control of their menopause journey. Menopause lasts 10-12 years—that’s a long time to struggle. A small investment now can do so much to take back your time and improve the quality of your life.
